Is Wine Good For Your Health?

Whether or not wine is good for one’s health has been debated for almost as long as we know and, most are of the view that certain types have health benefits while the others do not and the health improvement will depend on the level of consumption.

As we all know consuming something in large quantities will not always give better results. The same goes for this as well. Too much wine may lead to deteriorated health instead of improving your health.

Memory

Research have shown that people who drink this has a better memory than who does not and they have also discovered that issues such as dementia is lower in the consumers. However, you should not get the idea that excessive consumption of this particular beverage would make you a genius.

Heart

Nowadays most people have heart issues and high cholesterol and it would be great if something as fine as a fascinating drink could help reduce the associated risks. Most research that has been done tend to conclude that consumption of wine increases the good cholesterols and, therefore, would improve overall heart health. However, you should not get your hopes too high as a recent research has shown that the increase of HDL (good cholesterol) and decrease of LDL (bad cholesterol) are not directly related to the consumption of the beverage. There are other contributing factors such as the amount of exercise you get per week.

Weight loss

We would all love to have that perfect body mass index and be fit and healthy. Some previous research may give the idea that just lying around doing nothing and consuming wine would get you in proper shape. Unfortunately, this once again does not hold true. There is, according to the scholars, a particular substance specially in red wine which can assist in improving overall health and there is another ingredient which is said to be found in a certain type and, possibly also in the produce which are aged in oak, that can assist specifically in weight loss.

 Immunity

Consumption of wine (to a limit, of course) is said to boost your immunity and may also protect you from food poisoning. So the next time you have a cold head to the nearest wine shop in yangon and see if this is true.

The fact that the said beverage reduces the chances of food poisoning may be reason that people used to drink this when consuming food even in the early days when medicine was not as advanced as it is today.

Cancer

Some articles state that the consumption of this wonderful drink may reduce the chances of cancer, specially cancers such as ovarian cancer which is quite common.

However, as nothing is yet definitive and a whole lot of research needs to be done, it is not possible to state whether you will or you will not get the aforementioned health benefits but I, for one, would not mind being a test subject of a research concerning the benefits of wine.
